Highlife artiste Kumi Guitar has expressed his displeasure at the recent tussle between Entertainment Company, Zylofon Media, and dancehall artist Stonebwoy.

The two entities, for some time, have been trending on social media with some alleging a possible termination of contract between the artist and the record label.

The situation further escalated on Saturday when members of Zylofon Media led by Bulldog alleged stormed the premises of Paloma Hotel in Accra to retrieve a Mercedes Benz car from the artist.

But diving into the matter, the first artiste signed on by Zylofon Media, Kumi Guitar says the conduct of his colleague, is wrong and uncalled for.

According to him, the dancehall artist has exhibited some selfishness and ingratitude which will destroy the brand if not checked.

Speaking to www.ghanaweb about his latest song “Gyae” which is dedicated to Stonebwoy, Kumi Guitar said he believes it will admonish Stonebwoy and stop him from dragging the name of the brand in the mud.

“We have to learn to give back to people who are helping us. Stonebwoy can never say Zylofon media has done nothing for him. It was Zylofon Media that paid for all Stonebwoy’s expenses including his trips, recordings and his two major concerts which were held in Ashaiman and the National Theatre.

The “Betweener” hit maker argued “that maybe in his (Stonebwoy’s) contract, they agreed he will represent dancehall so they can’t bring somebody else on board, but if you are representing dancehall, then you also have to be an ambassador for the brand and he has never done that.

If you have an issue with management talk to them, who knows, you probably did something wrong and that’s why a new artist was brought on board. Not for you to go round tarnishing the image of the brand and trying to bring it down. As for that I won’t sit down and watch”

“Gyae”, which literally means “Stop” highlights the controversies surrounding Stonebwoy’s exit from Zylofon Media. It also warns the “Barifa” hit maker to desist from tarnishing the image of the entertainment company and show gratitude.

The song has already received massive airplay with some criticizing its release when a definite resolution of the issue hasn’t been announced.
