Ebony deserves to win the ‘Artiste of the Year‘ at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards without having to fight for the spot, says popular Ghanaian Dancehall artiste, Epixode.
Speaking in an interview with www.ghanaweb.com, Epixode said no artiste in Ghana has been able to succeed within a short period as Ebony did.
‘’I think she deserves it, she does not need to fight anybody for that spot. What she did, I don’t think any artiste has been able to do that within a short period. She’s a legend,” he stated.
He commended the late artiste for maintaining “her image” and was not bothered about what people said about her career.
According to Epixode, Ebony “has been able to change the mindset about showbiz. She was able to make us understand that you can be yourself and still do showbiz. She had over 6 hitz songs in a row over this short period. I know it will have been so much joy if she holds the plague and says yeah I worked for this.”
The 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards is set to take place at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) on Saturday, April 14, 2018.
The late Ebony, Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Joe Mettle have been nominated in the Artiste of the Year category for this year’s awards, organised Charter House.
Ebony Reigns was not only nominated for the Artiste of the Year, she grabbed six nominations including Album of the Year’.
