Sports News of Thursday, 8 March 2018
It’s Thursday night and as we all know it’s time for some Europa action. Arsenal and AC Milan square it off in the last 16 of Europe’s second-rated competition.
The Gunners travel to Italy on the back of four consecutive defeats in all competitions, with pressure mounting on Arsene Wenger to bring his reign at the Emirates to an end.
A rejuvenated ACMilan side under Gattuso must beat Arsenal to keep their hopes of winning the Europa League alive.
They have kept a clean sheet in their last six games in all competitions and have not lost any of their last 13 games, their best unbeaten streak since 2009.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, is ineligible, while Alexandre Lacazette, Hector Bellerin and Nacho Monreal are all sidelined by injury.
AC Milan will be without full-back Andrea Conti as he continues his recovery from a knee injury but otherwise have a full squad to pick from.
Other games tonight include:
Atletico Madrid vs Locomotiv Moksva
Dortmund vs Salzburg
CSKA Moscow vs Olympique Lyon
