The families of children found dead in a taxi in the compound of Ben Oxford Academy in Kpetoe in the Volta Region, are calling for justice.

They are alleging that the children were killed for ritual purposes.

Consequently, they have appealed to the Ghana Police Service and government to thoroughly investigate the incident and dully prosecute persons found culpable.

Residents of Kpetsoe in the Agortime District were thrown into a state of shock and grief after two pupils of the Ben Oxford Academy were found dead in the evening on February 22.

The bodies of Collins Ahobo, 4, and Goodluck Wayo, 6, were found squeezed in between the front and rear seats of an abandoned taxi parked on the school premises.

Ahobo, who met his untimely death on his birthday had some blood stains on his face and a wound on his left shoulder.

Wayo had some foamy substance oozing from his mouth at the time the bodies were discovered.

The relatives told Joy News’ Volta Regional Correspondent, Fred Quame Asare that, that the children were not in the taxi when an earlier search was done on the school premises.

The families of the deceased believe the children were kidnapped and kept in an uncompleted building and later dumped in the taxi after they had been killed.

“At about 9 pm we heard a shout and wailing from the school compound area. So, the whole town rushed to that direction and we were called.

“We got there and saw people wailing saying the children have been killed,” a relative of one of the deceased said.

He said he was restrained because he felt too down spirited he wanted to commit suicide.
