Accra Great Olympics is set to halt the start of the 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season with a court injunction should the legal bodies of the Ghana Football Association fail to resolve their cases before them.

The disciplinary committee of the GFA has annulled cases brought before them by Accra Great Olympics in relation to Bechem United and Elmina Sharks fielding unqualified players in their respective league matches.

A deduction in points as stipulated by the Constitution will see Great Olympics avoiding relegation.

Meanwhile, Managing Director for Accra Great Olympics Oloboi- Commodore has stated emphatically that the GFA has disrespected Accra Great Olympics in relation to this issue and they will head to court if the right decisions are not made.

According to Oloboi Commodore, Accra Great Olympics has filled two protest cases and are confident they will win those cases which will guarantee their stay in the league.

“On the 25th January we informed the GFA that Bechem United featured an unqualified player last season.

We want GFA to ascertain the veracity of truth in that matter and after then we can decide to play in the Division One League. But if it turns out to be true they must apply the rules in accordance with their statute,” Commodore told Asempa FM.

“Since 25th October 2017, we have told the GFA of our impending court action and we have given them enough time.

“So the threat must be followed so that the court must compel them to apply their own rules.”
