Nsawam Accident FatalAt least 8 people have been reported dead while several others are injured

Chairman for the Roads and Transport Committee in Parliament and Member of Parliament for Ayensuano ,Samuel Ayepaye has appealed to drivers across the country to reduce their speed on the roads .

According to him, over speeding only endangers the lives of drivers and passengers.

His comments is in relation to the accident that occurred at Nsawam in the Eastern Region on Thursday 25,January 2018 killing eight people .

The accident happened when an articulated truck run into a VIP Bus traveling to Accra from Kumasi.

Officials of the National Disaster Management Organization, (NADMO) from Ayensuano district, Police and the Fire Service were on the scene to lend a hand to survivors and to help ease traffic.

Commenting on the accident, Mr Ayepaye also warned the drivers to desist from over speeding on the highways.

“The rate at which some of our drivers speed frightens some of us. There is no need to over speed, it doesn’t serve any purpose. It only puts your life and that of your passengers at risk.”

“My condolences to the bereaved families and I wish speedy recovery to the injured.”
