Western Regional Manager of the Micro-finance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC), McDaniels Nyame has disclosed his outfit has received over one hundred and twenty proposals from across the Region asking for loans to either start, support or continue various kinds of business ventures.

According to him, the proposals are coming from all over the 22 districts of the Region but the applications will go through a vetting process to ensure value for money.

He said his office has vehicle facility loans, microcredit which is the group loans, tricycle loans and individual or small loans as well.

“This year we have submitted our budget to the Office of the President. We need to originate new loan cases and start disbursement” he stated.

When asked how much the Region presented to the Office of the President, Mr Nyame said: “we prepared our budget in consultation with management and we did it en bloc i.e. there is a national budget out of which we have input ours into”.

“When the entire budget is approved I will be in a firm position to tell you how much we will be operating with for 2018”, he told GhanaWeb in an interview.

Mr Nyame further stated that preparations are currently ongoing in earnest at the various district offices for work to commence.

“We have done all the painting. We are almost set to start the offices with new machines and people who will be manning the offices at the various Districts”, he assured.
