Established over 13 years ago, the Omajour Basic School has reached its limit and struggles to accommodate the increasing number of students each year.

The school has been compelled to run a shift system to accommodate the students who currently number over 2000 with 120 being the least number of pupils in a class.

The school doesn’t only grapple with issues of space and lack of infrastructure; they also have issues with sanitation and hygiene as students are forced to ease themselves in the open.

The lack of a school fence wall also makes it easy for miscreants to enter the school compound and do what they please.

Some students also take advantage of that to go out of school, making it difficult for teachers to monitor their activities and movements during lesson hours.

The school is the only in Omanjour and serves more than 5 communities in the Ga West district of the Greater Accra.
