Controversial New Patriotic Party lawmaker for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong claims he never lobbied or solicited for a single project for his constituents during the eight-year regime of the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration because appointees at the time had been directed from above not to honour such requests.

“Eight years I never went to any ministry for a project. Whatever project I did, it did it with my personal money” he revealed

“They will not even give to me. I cannot speak for everybody but if you are in opposition it is very tough”, the business man cum politician pointed out.

According to him, his portion of the MPs’ Common Fund is still in the pipe line because the District Chief Executive (DCE) in the area at the time was not ready to sign for him to use the amount to benefit the people.

“I have about hundred and forty thousand Ghana Cedis in my Common Fund accounts because the DCE was not prepared. …and I will not come there to ridicule myself”, he stated

According to him, despite several attempts by elements in the previous administration to stop him from embarking on projects that will benefit the people, he still went ahead and had those projects executed.

“I told him my money is about hundred thousand bigger and igher than your accounts”, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong spoke on GHOne State of Affairs show hosted by Nana Aba Anamoah.

He promised to continue serving his constituents by seeking the best for them irrespective of the situation indicating that once he has offered him himself, there is the need for them to be given the best.
