\t\t <a href=\"\/\/ghanaweb-d.openx.net\/w\/1.0\/rc?cs=b2ad7fa7fd&cb=151125817929577\"><\/p>\n<p>\t\t <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/1513878593_779_ai\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p style=\"clear:right\">In the heart of sprawling Aboabo Zongo in Kumasi, 23\u2013year-old Zaidan Mustapha endured seven good months of sleepless night to develop a health application software to help reduce maternal mortality rate in the country.<\/p>\n<p>What could be described as fidgeting with what he describes as \u201cdistorted\u2019\u2019 laptop, saw the creation of an application currently on Apple Store.<\/p>\n<p>The software provides information on pregnancy and child birth as a tool for reducing birth-related death.<\/p>\n<p>The application has videos with different options providing information including nanny service, midwifery assistance among others for expectant mothers.<\/p>\n<p>The health application software is named ‘Obaatanpa’ in Akan to give it a national identity for present and potential users.<\/p>\n<p>Two other languages; English and Hausa, give it wider public appreciation.<\/p>\n<p>Zaidan\u2019s vision is to be able to bring some level of improvement in the health sector, especially, and reduce mortality rate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want to see maternal mortality rate reduce drastically in this country.\u201d He said.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"600\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VNjjoNK1sDE\" frameborder=\"0\" gesture=\"media\" allow=\"encrypted-media\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ghana is still far behind in terms of combating maternal mortality rate recorded in the country.<\/p>\n<p>The magnitude of the cases recorded across the country remained awful. This has been blamed to most pregnant women\u2019s apathy towards visiting health facilities for safe delivery and antenatal.<\/p>\n<p>One way or the other, Zaidan is striving to change the narrative.
