will not<\/strong> come up for consideration at the party\u2019s extra-ordinary National Delegates Conference slated for Sunday 17th December at Kumasi in the Ashanti Region, Acting General Secretary, John Boadu has said.<\/p>\nThe National Executive Committee (NEC) of NPP in September 2015 upheld the decision of the Disciplinary Committee to suspend indefinitely the National Chairman, Paul Afoko; 2nd Vice Charman, Sammy Crabbe; and the General Secretary, Kwabena Agyapong for working against the party\u2019s chances of winning the 2016 elections.<\/p>\n
Dissatisfied with the decision, Messrs Afoko and Crabbe filed a suit over their suspension, but both suits were thrown out by the court.<\/p>\n
Two years after the suspension, some constituency and polling station executives of the NPP have petitioned the party\u2019s hierarchy for the reinstatement of Mr. Agyapong.<\/p>\n
They maintain that unlike Afoko and Crabbe, Agyapong did not seek legal action and that is a proof of his loyalty to the party. The petitioners argued that, his conduct towards the party, even after his indefinite suspension in 2015 and his monetary contribution to the party\u2019s campaign ahead of the 2016 general election, was evidence of his unwavering loyalty.<\/p>\n
But speaking on Citi FM, Acting General Secretary, John Boadu said the proposal for the reinstatement of Mr Agyapong did not make the list of agenda for the conference of which conference is expected to strictly go by.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cUnfortunately this is an extraordinary national delegates conference that requires that stated agenda for the programme is spelt out and conference is expected to restrict to the stated agenda. So unfortunately such discussion cannot come on. <\/em><\/p>\n\u201cMuch the same way the discussion of MMDCEs resigning three years before if they want to contest in constituency election will not come on the floor. Much the same way, the extension of the term of office of officers from polling station to national by three months because of the time table we have will not come on the floor for discussion. Unfortunately, this is an extraordinary conference that restricts itself to stated agenda.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote><\/div>\n
