<\/aside>\nThursday, November 23, 2017, will forever be remembered by the Deputy Communications Minister, Vincent Sowah Odotei, when he came face-to-face with the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Prof. Aaron Michael Oquaye, and was sacked from Parliament.<\/p>\n
Odotei\u2019s exit from the House was provoked by calls from the Minority side who argued that the deputy Communications Minister was not well placed to respond to their probing queries.<\/p>\n
They instead, prefer the substantive Minister, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful to answer their questions.<\/p>\n
The Speaker, Prof. Oquaye, had no option than to yield to the demands of the Minority, hence, his marching orders to the deputy Communications Minister.<\/p>\n
Five questions that stood in the name of the five Members from the Minority side of the House were expected to have been answered by the deputy Communications Minister.<\/p>\n
For instance, NDC MP for Akan, Abdul Aziz Muniru had sought to ask the Minister for Communications what steps are being taken to curb telephone call interferences from the Republic of Togo, in particular, Togocel and Togomoov, in the Akan Constituency.<\/p>\n
NDC MP for North Dayi, Ms. Joycelyn Tetteh had also sought to ask the Minister for Communications when mobile telephone network would be extended to cover the entire North Dayi District.<\/p>\n
Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, NDC MP for Akatsi North, was also billed to ask the Minister for Communications what steps the Ministry is taking to ensure that mobile network operators in Ghana serving Akatsi North District prevent interruptions in network services by mobile network operators in the Republic of Togo.<\/p>\n
Mr. Magnus Kofi Amoatey, NDC MP for Yilo Krobo, had also wanted to ask the Minister for Communications when the Nsutapong, Koyire and Samlesi areas of the Upper Yilo Krobo Municipality will benefit from improved telecommunication signals and services.<\/p>\n
Mr. Ras Mubarak, NDC MP for Kumbugu, on the hand, had wanted to ask the Minister for Communications what measures have been put in place to ensure online communications safety in Ghana.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
