{"id":440336,"date":"2017-11-23T14:59:06","date_gmt":"2017-11-23T14:59:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/11\/23\/private-firms-banned-from-lifting-bosts-contaminated-fuel\/"},"modified":"2017-11-23T14:59:06","modified_gmt":"2017-11-23T14:59:06","slug":"private-firms-banned-from-lifting-bosts-contaminated-fuel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/11\/23\/private-firms-banned-from-lifting-bosts-contaminated-fuel\/","title":{"rendered":"Private firms banned from lifting BOST\u2019s contaminated fuel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/BOAKYE-AGYARKO-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The Energy Ministry has barred individuals from lifting contaminated oil from Ghana\u2019s\u00a0Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST),\u00a0Boakye Agyarko, told Parliament Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The directive is part of\u00a0interim measures by the Ministry to prevent the supply of contaminated fuel onto the market.<\/p>\n<p>According to Boakye Agyarko, the move has become necessary as a result of the difficulty to track the whereabouts of products lifted from BOST.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe also noted that as soon as products were lifted out of BOST, you lost control of its track. As an interim measure, it is only BOST with its BVRs that can lift products to designated end-use consumers under the care and control of BOST. No longer are private companies allowed to lift products to unknown destinations. This became obvious during the preliminary investigation conducted by FDA itself whose preliminary results were released to the public.
