I pray the dramatic events of November serve as a reboot for democracy and prosperity in <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/Zim?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#Zim<\/a>. History will remember Comrade Mugabe kindly. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/CZPKCOpccZ\">pic.twitter.com\/CZPKCOpccZ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 John Dramani Mahama (@JDMahama) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JDMahama\/status\/933093587570515968?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">November 21, 2017<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Lawmakers roared in jubilation and people have begun celebrating in the streets over the news.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Mugabe had previously refused to resign despite last week\u2019s military takeover and days of protests.<br \/>He has been in power since independence in 1980.<\/p>\n<p>What triggered the moves to oust him was his dismissal of Emmerson Mnangagwa as vice-president two weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p>That decision was seen by many as clearing the way for Mr Mugabe\u2019s wife, Grace, to succeed her husband as leader.
