{"id":439508,"date":"2017-11-21T13:36:20","date_gmt":"2017-11-21T13:36:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/11\/21\/withdraw-2018-budget-minority-tells-govt\/"},"modified":"2017-11-21T13:36:20","modified_gmt":"2017-11-21T13:36:20","slug":"withdraw-2018-budget-minority-tells-govt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/11\/21\/withdraw-2018-budget-minority-tells-govt\/","title":{"rendered":"Withdraw 2018 Budget \u2013 Minority tells govt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/1511271380_156_Minority-NDC-MPs-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The Minority in Parliament has urged government to\u00a0 withdraw the 2018 budget statement presented to the House by the Finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta last Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minority spokesperson on Finance and MP for Ajumako, Ajumako Enyan Essiam, government revised the 2017 budget without Parliamentary approval hence the need for the withdrawal of the 2018\u00a0document which contains portions of the previous one.<\/p>\n<p>To him, the Finance Minister\u2019s actions constitutes an act of illegality and therefore called on members to reject and withdraw the said budget immediately.<\/p>\n<p>He made this statement in his preliminary remarks, Tuesday, before going ahead to make his case for the 2018 budget.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Minority spokesperson on Finance,\u00a0 Cassiel Ato Forson, government revised the 2017 budget without Parliamentary approval hence the need for the withdrawal of the 2018\u00a0document which contains portions of the previous one.<\/p>\n<p>Ato Forson made the comments during the maiden debate on the 2018 budget in\u00a0the House Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The Minority ahead of the budget debate has described the content of the economic statement as empty.
