{"id":437853,"date":"2017-11-16T12:17:44","date_gmt":"2017-11-16T12:17:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/11\/16\/mahama-got-me-into-politics-bawumia\/"},"modified":"2017-11-16T12:17:44","modified_gmt":"2017-11-16T12:17:44","slug":"mahama-got-me-into-politics-bawumia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/11\/16\/mahama-got-me-into-politics-bawumia\/","title":{"rendered":"Mahama got me into Politics \u2013 Bawumia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/Dr-Mahamudu-Bawumia-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>Vice president Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has eulogized the late Alhaji Aliu Mahama for his principles in both private and public life.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the late former second gentleman of the land on the 5th anniversary celebration of his death, Dr. Bawumia disclosed that the late Mahama who deputized for President J.A Kufuor from 2001-2008, was key in getting him into politics from the Bank of Ghana to serve as running mate to candidate Akufo-Addo in the 2008 election.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI did not only look up to him, but I considered greatly the supportive role he played to make the Kufuor administration a success.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI am constantly minded by the enormous part he played in my consideration to become a politician when H.E Nana Addo Dankwa called on me,\u201d<\/em> Dr. Bawumia said.<\/p>\n<p>Below is the full text:<\/p>\n<p>I celebrate H.E Alhaji Aliu Mahama, Vice President under H.E. John Agyekum Kufuor, on the 5th anniversary of his call to glory, for his enormous impact on me as a person and the nation as a whole. I did not only look up to him, but I considered greatly the supportive role he played to make the Kufuor administration a success.<\/p>\n<p>I am constantly minded by the enormous part he played in my consideration to become a politician when H.E Nana Addo Dankwa called on me.<\/p>\n<p>As we celebrate you this day, I pray for a restful place in Allah\u2019s bosom for you, and the wisdom to follow your examples and better our nation and the world at large<br \/>Rest well Alhaji.<\/p>\n<p>Programme of activities marking the 5th anniversary celebration<br \/>Aliu Mahama Foundation to the following events in the celebration of the 5th Anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>1.
