{"id":435386,"date":"2017-11-09T15:47:58","date_gmt":"2017-11-09T15:47:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/11\/09\/itlos-case-overresume-work-now-govt-to-oil-companies\/"},"modified":"2017-11-09T15:47:58","modified_gmt":"2017-11-09T15:47:58","slug":"itlos-case-overresume-work-now-govt-to-oil-companies","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/11\/09\/itlos-case-overresume-work-now-govt-to-oil-companies\/","title":{"rendered":"ITLOS case over\u2026Resume work now \u2013 Gov\u2019t to Oil Companies"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/tenfields.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>Government has warned companies in the Upstream Petroleum sector who halted operations following uncertainties over\u00a0the International Tribunal of the Law of the Sea (ITLOS) case to resume work immediately or have their contracts terminated.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Deputy Minister of Energy, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam, their idleness denies the country the needed funds for development, hence must return to their various Oil blocks to meet their minimum work obligations.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at a two-day Local Content and Exhibition Conference in Takoradi, the Deputy Minister cautioned that the \u201cwait and see\u201d attitude adopted by most upstream Petroleum Companies during\u00a0the three-year-long Ghana\/ C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire maritime dispute must cease following the\u00a0the ruling on the matter.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201c\u2026Now we have a ruling. The ruling is favourable to Ghana; That uncertainty has been removed and so we expect that these companies will go back to work and work hard to meet their minimum work obligations.
