{"id":432510,"date":"2017-10-31T08:40:44","date_gmt":"2017-10-31T08:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/10\/31\/make-scapegoats-out-of-unruly-karaga-npp-youth-awuku-to-police\/"},"modified":"2017-10-31T08:40:44","modified_gmt":"2017-10-31T08:40:44","slug":"make-scapegoats-out-of-unruly-karaga-npp-youth-awuku-to-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/10\/31\/make-scapegoats-out-of-unruly-karaga-npp-youth-awuku-to-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Make scapegoats out of unruly Karaga NPP youth \u2013 Awuku to Police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Sammy-Awuk-11-640x360-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The National Youth Organizer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Sammy Awuku has urged the Police to deal ruthlessly with the riotous youth of the party in Karaga in the Northern Region.<\/p>\n<p>Vigilante groups affiliated to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been on rampage since the change of government with the recent being an attack on the District Chief Executive of Karaga and the Youth Employment Agency director Alhassan Yabdoo and Mohammed Osman respectively.<\/p>\n<p>About 18 attacks under the aegis of vigilante groups linked to the NPP have taken place in Ghana since December 2016.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, supporters of feuding executives of the NPP in the Karaga constituency clashed vandalizing party installation, an alleged military van and invading a police station in a spread of violence that continues to threaten security in the Northern region.<\/p>\n<p>The violence began Monday afternoon with an attack on the Youth Employment coordinator who is also the constituency youth organizer, Mohamed Baba, over the appointment of some youth into the security service.<\/p>\n<p>The party constituency executives have stayed sharply divided and tension has escalated since the DCE for the area took office.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking to Fiifi Banson on <em><strong>Anopa Kasapa<\/strong><\/em> on <strong><em>Kasapa FM\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>Friday, Sammy Awuku said\u00a0the Police must make a statement by arresting and prosecuting the culprits to serve as a deterrent to other youth who habour such criminal intentions.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>\u201cThe continuous flouting of the President\u2019s directive by such lawless youth cannot be tolerated anymore. This development is very disturbing and causing bad publicity for government and the NPP. I urge the Police to make scapegoats out of those who misbehaved in Karaga. The perpetrator should dare not call me to assist them when the law catches up with them.
