{"id":428255,"date":"2017-10-13T08:32:21","date_gmt":"2017-10-13T08:32:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/10\/13\/trump-poised-to-withdraw-support\/"},"modified":"2017-10-13T08:32:21","modified_gmt":"2017-10-13T08:32:21","slug":"trump-poised-to-withdraw-support","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/10\/13\/trump-poised-to-withdraw-support\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump poised to withdraw support"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div id=\"post-269859\">\n<div class=\"post-header post-tp-1-header\">\n<div class=\"single-featured\"><img alt=\"\" data-src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/TRUMP-1-750x430.jpg\"\/><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"entry-content clearfix single-post-content\">\n<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">US President Donald Trump is expected to withdraw backing from the nuclear accord with Iran on Friday and lay out a more confrontational strategy.<\/p>\n<p>The move would not withdraw the US from the deal but give Congress 60 days to decide whether to do so by re-imposing sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>Secretary of State Rex Tillerson has been consulting with counterparts in Europe and China, officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Trump has been under pressure at home and abroad not to scrap the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Under the 2015 accord, Iran agreed to freeze its nuclear programme in return for the partial lifting of sanctions.<\/p>\n<p>President Trump has been a longstanding critic of the deal and pledged to scrap it during his campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Congress requires the US president to certify every 90 days that Iran is upholding its part of the agreement.
