{"id":426590,"date":"2017-10-08T12:43:43","date_gmt":"2017-10-08T12:43:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/10\/08\/ex-npa-boss-advocate-introduction-of-centralised-automatic-fuel-stations\/"},"modified":"2017-10-08T12:43:43","modified_gmt":"2017-10-08T12:43:43","slug":"ex-npa-boss-advocate-introduction-of-centralised-automatic-fuel-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/10\/08\/ex-npa-boss-advocate-introduction-of-centralised-automatic-fuel-stations\/","title":{"rendered":"Ex-NPA boss advocate introduction of centralised automatic fuel stations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>A former CEO\u00a0of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) says it is\u00a0time\u00a0the country considers the\u00a0introduction of\u00a0centralised\u00a0automatic fuel stations in non-commercial and residential areas.<\/p>\n<p>Alex Mould in his statement said,\u00a0\u201cgovernment should take serious the closing down all the filling depots for safety reasons and having 3\/4 filling stations in the country and using the existing depots as re-selling depots only.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The comments follow a huge gas explosion at the Atomic Junction near Madina on Saturday\u00a0which has so far claimed six lives with dozen others injured.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1002554\/Myjoyonline.com_InArticle_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/8734374611017_1235723573093.jpg\" style=\"height:381px; width:550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>According to him, the discharge protocols of gas should be strictly adhered to prevent such an incident recurring\u00a0in the future adding &#8220;seems that this was the cause of this accident and was the cause of the last 3 such explosions;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;These explosions are normally when a tanker is discharging and there is a leakage in the coupling (make to female connections on the offloading hoses).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Mr\u00a0Mould explained that &#8220;The seals in these couplings become brittle and as such fail to seal the liquid discharge and some gas escapes.
