{"id":425153,"date":"2017-10-04T17:48:16","date_gmt":"2017-10-04T17:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/10\/04\/first-national-bank-sets-money-transfer-tone-with-geo-payment\/"},"modified":"2017-10-04T17:48:16","modified_gmt":"2017-10-04T17:48:16","slug":"first-national-bank-sets-money-transfer-tone-with-geo-payment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/10\/04\/first-national-bank-sets-money-transfer-tone-with-geo-payment\/","title":{"rendered":"First National Bank sets money transfer tone with Geo Payment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The First National Bank (FNB) has introduced a new payment system that allows customers to transfer money to one another within the same geographical location.<\/p>\n<p>Geo Payment is an electronic payment that allows a seamless transfer of money using mobile phones, without having to add the bank details of the recipient.<\/p>\n<p>The Bank said the new payment system authenticated by means of the banking application\u2019s existing programming interface.<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1002554\/Myjoyonline.com_InArticle_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>A transaction occurs when both the sender and the receiver switch on the location button on their phones to identify one another.<\/p>\n<p>The service is available to all customers of the Bank at no extra cost.<\/p>\n<p>Head of Marketing and Corporate Affairs at FNB, Delali Dzidzienyo, said the payment system is a preferred way to send money instantly and safely in the country.<\/p>\n<p>He said the system will bring relief to clients because the transaction is not a laborious process.<\/p>\n<p>He said Geo Payment comes in handy anytime clients want to buy or pay for something in cash anywhere in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe sender or receiver will not pay any commission for the transaction and it works within a 5km radius,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>The Geo Payments functionality has been used successfully in Ghana since the bank began operations about a year and a half ago.<\/p>\n<p>It was, however, launched in 2012 by its parent company and is used extensively by its customers in South Africa and other countries where the Bank operates.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that the payment is instant between the accounts of the customers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want our customers to do whatever they want with their money without driving to our branches\u201d, Mr Dzidzienyo noted.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The parent company of the Bank in South Africa is one of the biggest on the African continent.<\/p>\n<p>It has been in existence for 179 years and is the largest bank by market capitalisation listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange \u2013 Africa\u2019s largest bourse.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The First National Bank (FNB) has introduced a new payment system that allows customers to transfer money to one another within the same geographical location.
