{"id":424662,"date":"2017-10-03T10:05:21","date_gmt":"2017-10-03T10:05:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/10\/03\/reinstate-kwabena-agyapong-now-abronye\/"},"modified":"2017-10-03T10:05:21","modified_gmt":"2017-10-03T10:05:21","slug":"reinstate-kwabena-agyapong-now-abronye","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/10\/03\/reinstate-kwabena-agyapong-now-abronye\/","title":{"rendered":"Reinstate Kwabena Agyapong now \u2013 Abronye"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/Kwabena-Agyepong-475x267.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\"> <\/aside>\n<p>The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organizer, Kwame Baffoe, aka Abronye DC, is leading a strong campaign for the reinstatement of the party\u2019s suspended General Secretary, Kwabena Agyepong.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, though he\u2019s one of the four petitioners who caused Mr Agyapong\u2019s suspension, he\u2019s come to the realization that it will take the latter to ensure discipline in the NPP, especially at the party headqaurters, now that the party is in power.<\/p>\n<p>The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the opposition NPP in 2015 upheld a decision by the party\u2019s Disciplinary Committee to suspend\u00a0its General Secretary Kwabena Agyepong and 2nd Vice Chairman, Sammy Crabbe.<\/p>\n<p>The suspensions followed a petition brought forth by four party members:\u00a0Chris Arthur, Former TESCON-KNUST President; Adreba Kwaku Abrefa Damoa, London; Kwabena Afum Dankwa, London; and Kwame Baffoe, NPP Regional Youth Organiser, Brong Ahafo to demand sanctions against the two accusing them\u00a0of undermining the party\u2019s authority.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Agyapong and Crabbe were accused of publicly rebelling\u00a0against the\u00a0party\u2019s decision to indefinitely suspend the national chairman, Paul Afoko. Mr Agyapong had publicly said he does not\u00a0recognise the acting Chairman, Freddie Blay.<\/p>\n<p>But speaking on Oman FM, Abronye DC, said Mr Agyapong has served enough time on his suspension and the time is due for him to return to take his rightful place and put things right in the party.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><em>Kwabena Agyapong will come back, if he\u2019s not recalled, then the extra-ordinary conference in Kumasi will not come off. Hard working party members come all the way from Kumasi to the party Headquarters and don\u2019t find anyone there. People are always sitting at Afrikiko drinking whisky and eating banku, why is it so, why should we run the party this way? Yesterday I went to the party headquaters and you could see that all the staff are desperate, if my master Sammy Awuku does not pass through the place and give them some GHC50 for food, that means that day they\u2019ll likely have empty stomachs throughout the day.
