{"id":411945,"date":"2017-08-16T07:29:38","date_gmt":"2017-08-16T07:29:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/08\/16\/trump-blames-charlottesville-violence-on-both-sides\/"},"modified":"2017-08-16T07:29:38","modified_gmt":"2017-08-16T07:29:38","slug":"trump-blames-charlottesville-violence-on-both-sides","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/08\/16\/trump-blames-charlottesville-violence-on-both-sides\/","title":{"rendered":"Trump blames Charlottesville violence on both sides"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<aside class=\"mashsb-container mashsb-main mashsb-stretched\">&#13;<br \/>\n                <\/aside>\n<p><!-- Share buttons by mashshare.net - Version: 3.4.4--><\/p>\n<p class=\"story-body__introduction\">US President Donald Trump has again blamed both sides for the violent unrest in Charlottesville, Virginia, which left one protester dead and others injured.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement on Monday, he had condemned white supremacists.<\/p>\n<p>But in New York on Tuesday he also blamed left-wing supporters for charging at the \u201calt-right\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>His latest comments drew swift criticism, including from many in his Republican party.<\/p>\n<p>Many echoed Senator John McCain\u2019s\u00a0view: \u201cThere is no moral equivalency between racists &amp; Americans standing up to defy hate &amp; bigotry\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The right-wing march had been organised to protest against the proposed removal of a statue of General Robert E Lee, who commanded the pro-slavery Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The event drew white supremacy groups.<\/p>\n<p>Violence broke out after they were confronted by anti-racism groups.
