Irate youth of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Karaga in the Northern region Wednesday morning took to the streets and rampaged through the District Assembly offices shutting down the office of the District Chief Executive.<\/p>\n

The NPP accuse the DCE Alhassan Yabdoo and the constituency organizer of hoarding contracts and dividing the party.<\/p>\n

According to the youth, the DCE is stashing contracts to the party organizer adding that Mr. Yabdoo is also refusing to recognize the authority of the constituency chairman who he claimed did not support his DCE bid.<\/p>\n

Abdul Karim Alhassan, the party\u2019s constituency research and elections officer explained that the youth took the action because of the discriminatory attitude of the DCE.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe irate youth of the NPP took to the streets and incidentally they locked up the offices\u2026apparently because of the discriminatory practices of the DCE and the constituency organizer.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe DCE has been found not to be working with the constituency chairman and not to recognize him as such,\u201d Mr. Karim Alhassan told Adom News\u2019 Illiasu Abdul Rauf.<\/p>\n

The Police, according to sources engaged the irate youth who promised to open the offices and allow the assembly members to work.<\/p>\n

No person has yet been arrested by the police yet.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
