However, a lot of people associate HFC with mortgage and housing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1002554\/Myjoyonline.com_InArticle_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think and it\u2019s our objective to build on the past but moving on there are a number of areas that we intend to focus on that is oil and gas financing, in addition to mortgaging, salary loans, in addition to corporate loans and we think therefore that broadening the change of name will give a broad coverage of the services we produce,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Mr Le hunte further explained the change in name will make the bank stand firmer.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRepublic Bank is a BBB+ organization by Standard and Poor which actually places it as one of the strongest institutions here,\u201d\u00a0 he added.<\/p>\n<p>He said, \u201c\u2026as such we think a closer association with such a strong institution with $1.5 billion in equity and over US$11 billion in size will be to our benefit.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, HFC bank has recorded one of its best half-year financial performance in the history of its 27 years of operations.<\/p>\n<p>The bank\u2019s profit after tax went up by some 52 percent to \u00a226.5 million.\u00a0This comes after two years of losses and a \u00a2150 million in provision.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the bank now boasts of having one of the highest cover ratio i.e provision to non-performing loans of over 65% which provides the bank with protection against future shocks moving forward.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After almost three years of taking over majority shares of HFC bank, Republic Bank is now set to rebrand the bank.
