{"id":407477,"date":"2017-07-31T18:30:54","date_gmt":"2017-07-31T18:30:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/07\/31\/icu-kicks-against-moves-by-hfc-bank-to-outsource-drivers\/"},"modified":"2017-07-31T18:30:54","modified_gmt":"2017-07-31T18:30:54","slug":"icu-kicks-against-moves-by-hfc-bank-to-outsource-drivers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/07\/31\/icu-kicks-against-moves-by-hfc-bank-to-outsource-drivers\/","title":{"rendered":"ICU kicks against moves by HFC bank to outsource drivers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>The Industrial and Commercial Workers Union, ICU is kicking against moves by management of HFC bank to outsource drivers employed by the bank.\u00a0ICU believes, many of the drivers who are members of the union will be laid off in the process without recourse to procedure.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Addressing some disgruntled drivers of the bank this morning, General Secretary of the Union, Solomon Kotei advised the drivers to go back to work whilst they engage management on the matter.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, in a press statement signed by Festus Matey, Manager, Corporate Communications of HFC, the management of the bank confirmed\u00a0measures put in place to outsource the company&#8217;s drivers. \u201cWe confirm that as part of HFC\u2019s rearrangement measures, we have initiated a process of outsourcing our drivers and by extension making their jobs legally severed.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1002554\/Myjoyonline.com_InArticle_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The statement further noted, \u201cwe have informed the Staff and the Union of our intentions and are engaging them in discussions to mitigate the effect of the severance and to pay the affected staff what is due them in line with Section 65 of Labour Act, 2003 Act 651.
