Minority members on the Mines and Energy Committee of Parliament have revealed their work has stalled following the dawn raid of the residence of former Minister for Power, Dr. Kwabena Donkor.<\/p>\n

According to them, his laptop confiscated by personnel of Police Criminal Investigative Department (CID) contain vital information needed for their work.<\/p>\n

Former deputy Minister of Power, John Jinapor revealed this on Asempa FM\u2019s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday after Dr. Donkor\u2019s house raid Monday.<\/p>\n

Dr Kwabena Donkor\u00a0who revealed this to Joy News said the police officers arrived at his house with a warrant demanding to search the premises to help in investigations into the $510 million\u00a0AMERI deal signed in February 2015 to ameliorate the country\u2019s power challenges at the time.<\/p>\n

He said the CID told him he was being investigated on suspicion for causing financial loss to the state.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kwabena Donkor, the officers even wanted to take away his phones but he resisted and only provided his serial numbers.<\/p>\n

Commenting on the issue on Ekosii Sen, John Jinapor expressed shock at the manner in which the CID raided his house.<\/p>\n

He said the CID could have sent invitation to the former Energy if their actions is not borne out of malice.<\/p>\n

John Jinapor who is also the Member of Parliament Yapei Kusawgu noted that the invasion of his house violated his right as an MP and did not follow procedures required by Parliamentary conventions.<\/p>\n

He maintained that, the erstwhile Mahama administration did followed due process in its agreement with the Turkish energy firm, AMERI.<\/p>\n

Mr. Jinapor added that the communist inferior tactics being adopted by government is nothing but political witch-hunt.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
