REUTERS\/Philimon Bulawayo      TPX IMAGES OF THE DAY &#8211; RTX26CYU<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Zimbabwe\u2019s President Robert Mugabe, reportedly lavished his sister in-law with R780,000 which is approxiamtly $60,000, as she celebrated her 60th birthday on July 23 2017.<\/p>\n<p>According to The Herald newspaper, the 93 year old president and his wife Grace gave Junior Gumbochuma the huge sum, while the couple\u2019s children gave her $10,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201dThe gift was to thank Mrs Gumbochuma, a pastor, for the pivotal role she played in raising the First Family\u2019s children,\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gumbochuma, who is Grace Mugabe\u2019s elder sister, celebrated her birthday at one of the Mugabes\u2019 farms in Shamva, northeast of Harare.<\/p>\n<p>The Herald newspaper also reported that Zimbabwe\u2019s economy has been on a downturn for over a decade with many banks running out of cash, forcing people to queue for hours to make withdrawals often limited to only $20 a day.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Zimbabwe&#8217;s President Robert Mugabe addresses the ZANU-PF party&#8217;s top decision making body, the Politburo, in the capital Harare, February 10, 2016.
