Sudan to adopt Swahili as official language, seeks Tanzania\u2019s help"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<div class=\"td-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"610\" height=\"415\" class=\"entry-thumb td-modal-image\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/John-Magafuli.jpg.pagespeed.ce.9VDETrMIU9.jpg\" alt=\"\" title=\"John Magafuli- Tanzania\" data-pagespeed-url-hash=\"2707658867\" onload=\"pagespeed.CriticalImages.checkImageForCriticality(this);\"\/><\/div>\n<p>The\u00a0<strong>South Sudanese<\/strong>\u00a0government has called on Tanzania to send Swahili teachers to the country as it introduces the language in school curriculum ahead of its adoption as an official language.<\/p>\n<p>The request was made by South Sudanese Vice President Taban Deng Gai on the sidelines of the just ended African Union Summit on Tuesday, Tanzania\u2019s Vice President Samia Hassan said in a statement cited by local media The Citizen.<\/p>\n<p>South Sudan also requested for assistance in other sectors of its economy including health, agriculture and security, the statement added.<\/p>\n<p>Swahili has been adopted as the official language for the East African Community (<span class=\"caps\">EAC<\/span>), of which South Sudan is its latest member after it deposited the instruments of ratification on the Accession to the\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">EAC<\/span>\u00a0Treaty last year.<\/p>\n<p>The language is part of the commitments entered in 2007 by the\u00a0<span class=\"caps\">EAC<\/span>, whose three founders \u2013 Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania \u2013 use Swahili as their official language alongside English.<\/p>\n<p>Rwanda is yet to make it its fourth official language after national language Kinyarwanda, French and English.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a style=\"display:none\" rel=\"follow\" href=\"http:\/\/megatheme.ir\/\" title=\"\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633\">\u0642\u0627\u0644\u0628 \u0648\u0631\u062f\u067e\u0631\u0633<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0South Sudanese\u00a0government has called on Tanzania to send Swahili teachers to the country as it introduces the language in school curriculum ahead of its adoption as an official language.
