{"id":395589,"date":"2017-06-13T20:38:33","date_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:38:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/06\/13\/cid-to-interrogate-widow-of-late-major-mahama\/"},"modified":"2017-06-13T20:38:33","modified_gmt":"2017-06-13T20:38:33","slug":"cid-to-interrogate-widow-of-late-major-mahama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/06\/13\/cid-to-interrogate-widow-of-late-major-mahama\/","title":{"rendered":"CID to &#8216;interrogate&#8217; widow of late Major Mahama"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<!--               \n\n<div class=\"in-ad\">\n\n\n<div id='div-gpt-ad-1495043641385-0' style='height:250px; width:300px;'>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n              <\/div>\n\n --><\/p>\n<p>The widow of slain Major Maxwell Adam Mahama is to be interrogated by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service, Spokesperson for the CID has said.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0ASP Olivia Turkson said this forms part of on-going investigations into the dastardly manner in which the army officer was killed at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central Region on May 29.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview with KABA on Asempa FM\u2019s Ekosii Sen\u2019s programme Tuesday, she said they are still pursuing leads which will enable them to prosecute those arrested.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!-- \/1002554\/Myjoyonline.com_InArticle_300x250 --><\/p>\n<p>The late Major Mahama\u00a0was buried last Friday at the Military\u00a0Cemetry \u00a0in Osu after a state funeral at the forecourt of the Banquet Hall. He was murdered while on national assignment at Denkyira-Obuasi.<\/p>\n<p>The residents\u00a0said they mistook him for an armed robber after he was spotted with a weapon and killed him.<\/p>\n<p>The action by the residents has been condemned with a renewed preparedness by the country to end all forms of mob justice.<\/p>\n<p>The list of persons who allegedly played a role in the horrid murder of the fallen hero has risen to 52.\u00a0There are currently 44 males and eight females in\u00a0police custody\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Between last Thursday and Friday, at least 16 out of the 52 suspects have\u00a0been put before an Accra High Court. They include a nursing mother whose child has been given to a police officer to take care of.<\/p>\n<p>Although police are still investigating what led to the brutal killing, there has been discrepancies regarding the turn of events.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/ghanamma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/2743962295198_9006171628988.JPG\" style=\"border-style:solid; border-width:5px; height:367px; width:550px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The official report by the police said the officer who loves to keep\u00a0fit had gone for his usual morning jogging around 8:30 am when he was attacked by the mob.\u00a0However, the\u00a0tribute by his wife, Barbara Mahama is said to infer something else.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYo, what was for breakfast\u201d was the last message I sent you on Monday at 9:12 am after we spoke at 6 am and you said you were going to have your bath.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;For the first time in my life, I experienced a ripping heart on Monday night, I woke up to throw up, I had tummy issues too, I just felt sick,\u201d&#8217;
