The \u00a0sports ministry has refused to yield to pressure from the Nigeria Football Federation to help\u00a0 sort\u00a0 the payment of\u00a0 the Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr his three month\u2019s salary out.<\/p>\n
Rohr, who\u00a0 was heavily linked with the vacant Guinea job before\u00a0 he was snapped\u00a0 up by the NFF in August last year,\u00a0 has won\u00a0 the country\u2019s three competitive matches since his employment.<\/p>\n
It was learnt that Dalung reminded the NFF leadership that he told them before Rohr\u2019s employment that the ministry was against the idea because of its financial implications.<\/p>\n
The minister is said to be still unhappy\u00a0 with development.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the officials of the\u00a0 football house, which is\u00a0 in dire financial distress, have therefore intensified their search for sponsors to pay the former Niger coach before he starts complaining, according to our source.<\/p>\n
Dalung\u2019s\u00a0 Media Adviser\u00a0 Nneka Anibeze told our correspondent that the ministry was not in a position to help the NFF because of its own financial challenges.<\/p>\n
She denied that the minister had abandoned the NFF to their fate, promising that\u00a0 the minister would\u00a0 intervene when funds are available to the ministry.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe NFF should not be\u00a0 having problems paying the coach because they told the minister that they had secured sponsorship for his salary,\u201d Anibeze told our correspondent on the telephone on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
