OK that might be a stretch, but a new study indicates a healthy s*x life can actually boost job satisfaction and engagement. What\u2019s more, the post-coital benefits seem to have an immediate effect as workers reported enjoying the office more the day after s*x.<\/p>\n<p><!-- WP QUADS Content Ad Plugin v. 1.4.3 --><\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe make jokes about people having a \u2018spring in their step,\u2019 but it turns out this is actually a real thing and we should pay attention to it,\u201d says professor and study co-author Keith Leavitt, Ph.D., in a release from Oregon State.\u00a0\u201cMaintaining a healthy relationship that includes a healthy s*x life will help employees stay happy and engaged in their work, which benefits the employees and the organizations they work for.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the study, 159 married employees divulged the details of their s*x lives while completing two surveys a day for two weeks. Employees who had s*x reported being happier the following day, which led to better job engagement and satisfaction. This after-s*x high seems to last at least 24 hours, according to the team, and was evident in men and women. The benefits were independent of marital satisfaction and sleep quality, which can also impact mood. Alternatively, workers who brought their office woes home had less s*x.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMaking a more intentional effort to maintain a healthy s*x life should be considered an issue of human sustainability, and as a result, a potential career advantage,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Leavitt isn\u2019t the only one who sees the career-boosting benefits of s*x. Last month, Swedish politician Per-Erik Muskos proposed a weekly s*x break for municipal employees citing studies that show s*x is healthy, reports The Daily Mail. Past research has shown that s*x can lower blood pressure, improve sleep and reduce anxiety.<\/p>\n<p><!-- WP QUADS Content Ad Plugin v. 1.4.3 --><\/p>\n<p>Another non-physical benefit of s*x? Money. A 2013 study from Germany revealed that people who had s*x four or more times a week saw a five percent increase in salary compared to those who abstained.
