{"id":354809,"date":"2017-04-10T18:00:44","date_gmt":"2017-04-10T18:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ghana-mma.com\/2017\/04\/10\/special-forces-storm-ksi-over-delta-force\/"},"modified":"2017-04-10T18:00:44","modified_gmt":"2017-04-10T18:00:44","slug":"special-forces-storm-ksi-over-delta-force","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2017\/04\/10\/special-forces-storm-ksi-over-delta-force\/","title":{"rendered":"Special Forces Storm K\u2019si Over Delta Force"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><\/p>\n<div>\n<style type=\"text\/css\"><![CDATA[\n]]><\/style>\n<p><strong>The IGP addressing the police special team <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A SPECIAL police operation team has been sent from Accra to Kumasi, the Ashanti Regional capital, by the police administration.<\/p>\n<p>It is made up of four officers, 55 stoutly-built men and other key personnel, totaling about 60.<\/p>\n<p>The police administration has dispatched them to the region to help maintain law and order.<\/p>\n<p>The special police team is expected to be in the region for one week and it is likely that it would be extended for more days.<\/p>\n<p>The personnel are to collaborate with their colleagues in Kumasi to help curb the activities of vigilante groups, such as Delta Force.<\/p>\n<p>The police special team is also believed to help make the upcoming Easter festivities incident-free in the region.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IGP\u2019s Advice<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The IGP, David Asante-Apeatu, admonished the personnel to exercise professionalism during their short stay in Kumasi.<\/p>\n<p>He urged them to be fair and firm in the discharge of their key duties, and charged them not to be bias.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, crime has no political, religious or ethnic colour and so they should not offer special treatment to any lawbreaker.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Asante-Apeatu called for peaceful co-existence and corporation between the special team and the police in Kumasi to boost security in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the team, who looked poised for action, did some physical demonstrations in the presence of the IGP and his team.<\/p>\n<p><strong>We\u2019re Not Afraid<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah, has stated that the police are not afraid of the Delta Force.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the police have enough men and equipment to prevent vigilante groups, such as the Delta Force, from causing mayhem in the region.<\/p>\n<p>In this regard, the regional police chief urged the public to have strong faith and confidence in them for they would offer the best of protection for them.<\/p>\n<p>DCOP Yeboah stated that the police were firmly in control of the security situation in the region, warning that acts of lawlessness would be curtailed.<\/p>\n<p>He was speaking when the Ashanti Regional Police Command organized a press conference at the police headquarters in the presence of the IGP and other police chiefs in Kumasi on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>DCOP Yeboah said the Delta Force attack on George Adjei, the Ashanti Regional Security Liaison Officer \u2013 being an isolated case \u2013 could not be used to slam the police.<\/p>\n<p>He explained that on that particular day, the police sent enough men to the Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) to help save the situation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FROM I.F.
