D Asante has been appointed as the Caretaker Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana National Gas Company (Ghana Gas).<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHis caretaker position means he will act as the CEO of Ghana Gas until a substantive one is approved.<\/p>\n<p>Under his acting role he is also not permitted to take decisions that have policy implications.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHis appointment follows the exit of the former CEO of the company, Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey.<\/p>\n<p>A statement from Ghana Gas last week stated that the Board of the Company had approved a request from Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey to \u201dproceed on terminal leave, effective February 1, 2017, and terminating in May 2017\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Ben Asante has over 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe was the technical Director of Ghana\u2019s first Gas Infrastructure project and also developed the gas infrastructure master plan for Ghana in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>He has also served as a consultant to the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) and provided engineering services, project management and technical support for various projects across the world including UAE, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, China, Mexico, Russia, Thailand and USA.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nHe has worked for major companies including Nova\/TransCanada and Enron and Jacobs Engineering.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Ben Asante is a product of Mfantsipim school and holds a BSc in Chemical Engineering (KNUST, Ghana), and an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary, Canada.<\/p>\n<p>He also has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London \/University of Calgary and has taught gas processing and pipeline engineering at Imperial College, UK and KNUST, Ghana.<\/p>\n<p><!-- uploaded by: 43 updated by: -1 --><\/p>\n<p><!-- Start of html generated by this->footer() -->\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Business News of Monday, 30 January 2017 Source: citifmonline.com 2017-01-30 Dr. Ben Asante&#8217;s appointment follows the exit of Dr. George Sipa-Adjah Yankey.
