Guinness Ghana Breweries Limited has presented 200 packs of Orijin Zero, a non-alcoholic beverage, to Sheikh Dr. Osman Nuhu Sharabutu, the National Chief Imam.
The presentation also formed part of the corporate social responsibility of the beverage company, which is aimed at maintaining the relations between the company and Muslims who don’t consume hard liquor.
Kweku Sekyi-Cann, Marketing and Innovation Director, presenting the drinks to the National Chief Imam, said the gesture was to show appreciation for the partnership that exist between the Chief Imam’s Office and the company.
Guinness Ghana recognizes the fact that Muslims abhor alcohol and therefore thought it wise to come up with the product to satisfy their needs.
Mr Sekyi-Cann said, “Orijin Zero is a carbonated soft drink filled with nutritional benefits and would give consumers, especially Muslims all they need in a beverage without worrying about alcohol.
He said the product could also be of benefit to Muslims, especially as the month of Ramadan was fast approaching.
He expressed appreciation to the Chief Imam for the constant support which had contributed significantly to development of the company.
Guinness Ghana Breweries also promised to support the Chief Imam’s Foundation to continue with its good work for the needy.
Gabriel Opoku Asare, the Corporate Relations Director, added that Guinness Ghana was also engaged in supporting people and pledged to support the Chief Imam’s Foundation.
Sheikh Sharubutu expressed gratitude to Guinness Ghana for supporting the Muslim community by coming out with the product.
He prayed to God to help the company in its endeavours.
