A Programmes Officer at the Environmental Health and Sanitation Directorate (EHSD) of the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, Mr. Kweku Quansah, has stated that the Ministry is collaborating effectively with the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) to ensure sanity in the country’s capital.
Speaking to Kasapa News during the celebration of World Toilet Day in Accra over the weekend, Mr. Quansah said the proper collection of waste, storage and treatment is of great importance to the government.
As part of the celebration a quiz on sanitation was organized for some selected Senior High Schools in Accra in the studio of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC).
The selected schools included Presbyterian Boys Senior Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, Presbyterian Senior Secondary School Tema, Odorgono Senior High School and Ashiaman Senior High School.
At the end of the quiz, PRESEC Legon, emerged winners with Odorgono Senior High School and Presbyterian Senior Secondary School, Tema placing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
