Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong popularly known as KABA died in the early hours of Saturday after he was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra.

His colleagues at Muti media who couldn’t believe the news of his demise rushed to Korle Bu to see for themselves if the person pronounced dead was the KABA they worked with.

Their fears were confirmed when his body was shown to them at the Korle Bu morgue.

Reports reveal the celebrated broadcaster died on his way to the hospital following a sudden increase in his sugar level Saturday dawn.

He left behind his wife and daughter.

How Multimedia finally broke the news

Announcing his death to staff and Colleagues in the multimedia Group, a memo from the top hierarchy of the Multimedia Group said they pray that God Comforts the widow of the dead presenter and the Multimedia family.

The memo asked that the team at Multimedia keep the family of their dead colleague in prayers. It further indicated that information about funeral arrangement will be disclosed later.

Kwadwo Asare Baffuor Acheampong officially joined the Multimedia Group in August 2009 as a broadcast journalist.

He was then the regular host of daily news bulletin ‘Asempa Today’ on Asempa FM. He also hosted weekly current affairs programme ‘Kukurantumi’ on Saturday morning.

He rose through the ranks to become of the country’s most-sought-after political and current affairs talk host. He was recently awarded as the Best Talk Show Host in the 2017 edition of the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Award.
