Head Coach of Spanish second tier side Granada José Luis Oltra has showered praise on Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey ahead of this weekend’s Madrid derby.
Partey spent a year under Luis Oltra during his loan spell at Mallorca in 2013/2014 and was a regular under the Spanish manager. The 24 year old has since grown to become one of the leading midfielders in La Liga.
Oltra in an interview with Spanish newspaper Marca expressed his delight and satisfaction at the growth of the midfielder and has identified him as one of the players to watch in Saturday’s big game against Real Madrid.
“He has always seen his potential, and with patience and work has become the strength of a team like Atletico. He has the conditions to lead his team, when I had him he made a difference.
“He has always had the ambition to succeed and see where he is now. He has the capacity to be a top player and has the character of a leader”, José Luis Oltra said.
Partey has scored 3 goals in 14 appearances for Atletico this season.
