A 21 year old young man, Kwame Osei has been stabbed by land guards at Opeikuma Anigyiekrom near Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.

This incident which has left the victim in coma, comes barely 48 hours after a 52 year old minibus driver was murdered by persons said also to be land guards.

Brother of the latest victim, Moses Abekah explained to Kasapa News, that his brother was returning home from town around 8pm Thursday when he met the group of land guards seated by the roadside and greeted them.

Just as the victim moved away from them, the land guards unprovoked accosted the victim and started hacking him with machete leaving him writhing in pain in a pool of blood.

Kwame Osei, was rescued and rushed to the hospital by some ‘good Samaritans’ and is currently receiving treatment.

Journalist, Benjamin Amuzu who covers the Central Region and has visited Opeikuma told Kasapa News that the incident has left the residents terrified with several of them vowing to arm themselves, claiming the police are doing very little to protect them.

“The residents are living in fear, they have now imposed curfew on themselves and have decided not to stay late in town to avoid being murdered by these criminals.”
