I’ve not regretted joining NPP – Kumasi based Actress

Ghanaian Actress based in Kumasi, Ama Boahemaa popularly known as Mama Kali has said she’s is not disappointed declaring her support to the New Patriotic Party.

She said her reason for joining the NPP was because the economic hardship in the country was so severe and the movie industry was on the verge of collapse under then John Mahama’s government hence she saw it a priority to unite with her colleague actors to push the agenda of the current Government.

According to Mama Kali, the NPP Government is on course though most of the promises have not seen light yet. She added that the Akufo Addo government is trying its possible means to put things in order because a lot of damages were caused under the John Mahama administration.

I know at the right time things will get better… it’s a matter of time so let’s exercise restraints. I’ve not regretted joining the NPP,” Mama Kali disclosed on RTVGhana.

When asked about the Government’s achievement so far, she replied, “So far I’m happy for President Nana Addo’s Free Senior High School initiative because most parents have no money to pay for their wards education so this will help solve that problem.”

Ahead of the 2016 general election, popular Kumawood actor Alexander Kofi Adu, known in movies as Agya Koo and hosts of other Kumasi based actors and actresses declared their support for the NPP flagbearer Nana Akuffo-Addo citing the need for change as their reason.

The group who launched their ‘Agenda 57%’ for then Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo Addo, cited unprecedented economic hardships which consequently led to job losses and high unemployment rate, poor healthcare provision and cut-throat utility bills as reasons for campaigning to dislodge then sitting president John Mahama.
