A security analyst, Prosper Nii Nortey Addo has said the decision by Kenya to deport the 2016 campaign manager of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Peter Mac Manu could affect the relationship that exists between Ghana and Kenya.

Kenyan authorities denied Mr. Mac Manu entry into the country to lead a team of election observers from the Democratic Union of Africa ahead of Tuesday’s polls.

According to sources familiar with the development, the 2016 New Patriotic Party’s Campaign Manager’s entry refusal into the East African country is because he is an honorary chairman of the union, an umbrella body of Centre-right parties in Africa which includes some opposition parties in Kenya.

But Mr Nortey Addo believes the alleged treatment of Mr. Mac Manu at the hands of Kenyan authorities must be investigated because it can undermine the relation between Ghana and Kenya.

Mr. Nortey Addo indicated that, though Kenya is a sovereign country and has the right to reject anyone who comes to the country if they gather any intelligence that could undermine the upcoming elections, it must be done the right way.
