Ghana’s Second Lady, Samira Bawumia, has disclosed that her meeting with the cast and some players in the Indian movie industry was for a future collaboration between Ghana’s movie industry and Bollywood.
Some players in the Ghana Movie industry have lambasted Mrs Bawumia for promoting Bollywood movies when the Ghana movie industry keeps sinking each day as a result of low patronage after pictures of her and some cast of the popular Kumkum Bhagya series surfaced on social media
But in a Facebook, she said “Meeting with some key members of the Indian Entertainment Industry, exploring possibilities of collaboration to boost the budding movie Industry in Ghana”.
Kukum Bhagya, a popular TV series that has been telecast for over a year has Indian actors and actresses speaking the Akan language which has attracted several people to it.
The second lady was in India for the International Conference on Women Trafficking in Mumbai, India; hosted by the Maharashtra State Commission for Women and the International Justice Mission.
