Fire has gutted the 10th floor of the Job 600 building which serve as offices for Members of Parliament and their research assistants.

Acting Director of Public Affairs at Parliament, Kate Addo confirmed this to Adom TV News Tuesday.

She indicated that, the fire started in the evening and the experience of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service is helping to bringing it under control.

Kate Addo said the cause of the fire outbreak is still unclear and no injury or loss of life has so far been reported.

The post independence edifice was constructed during the administration of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first President to accommodate participants attending the OAU (now African Union) Conference held in Accra in 1965.

It was however completed by the erstwhile Mahama administration to house MPs in the August House.
