Preparations towards the maiden Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition for Africa later in Ghana is gathering momentum, with an expert in aviation exhibition, Mr Didier Mary, holding discussions with Origin8 Limited, the official sponsorship arm for African Air Expo, on how to make it successful.

Mr Mary who is Chief Executive Officer of Abu-Dhabi-based events organisation company, 4M Events FZ-LLC, met with his counterpart at Origin8 Limited to fine-tune processes leading to the show scheduled to take place from October 24 to 26, this year at the Kotoka International Airport.

The expo, which is to make sure our airports are safe, will also bring foreign investors and foreign exchange into the country.

The two giant event companies have partnered to host a successful event in Ghana.

Didier Mary, who has 20 years of event organising experience, and is specialised in aviation exhibitions, brings on board a truckload of technical expertise.

4M Events was approached by the French government in 2011, and organised the first aviation expo in Cannes, dedicated to private aviation in 2012.

Since then, they have been hosting the France Air Expo each year, in either Lyon or Paris.

In an interview during a meeting with the CEO of Origin8 Limited, William Ansah, and Expo Consultant, Kwesi Taylor, Didier said he had been approached to expand the event to Africa, as the South African expo is strictly military. “A real expo with aircrafts on exhibition and conferences is non-existent”, he stated. “We chose Ghana because it is the best location on the map, and it is safe and peaceful; though we do not have an airline here, the passenger traffic is good”, he added.

There will be an expo in Africa every other year after this, rotating from country to country.

The maiden Aerospace and Aviation Exhibition for Africa is the first general Air Expo to be held in Africa.

The event is expected to bring together major industry players in the aviation sector to discover latest developments and innovations.

It also provides an opportunity for manufacturers and service providers in the sector to explore and meet potential customers to discuss best practices in the industry and share ideas in seminar sessions.

Origin8 and 4M Events are working together, driving the sponsorship of this expo, and conducting the necessary negotiations to execute the event.
