Ashanti Gold SC saw their seven games unbeaten run cut shot as they suffered a fourth home loss on Sunday to rejuvenated Elmina Sharks FC.
The home side failed to take an early opportunity in the 10th minute when centre back Richard Ocran missed a penalty. Goalkeeper Richard Attah made a spectacular dive to save the spot kick.
The visitors took advantage of Ashanti Gold SC’s slack to take the lead in 29th minute through Eric Osei from the spot.
Benjamin Tweneboa made it two for the newcomers ten minutes later inside the first half.
Ashanti Gold SC came came into the second half stronger than the first half making sure they could equalize the two goals deficit.
Winger and man of the match Prince Owusu pulled one back in the 65th minute with a sublime finish.
All efforts by the hosts proved futile since the defence of Elmina Sharks FC together with the goalkeeper were solid.
Elmina Sharks FC have now won three games in a row taking them to the middle of the league table.
