Having confessed to the crime of murdering his 43-year old mother and 11-year old sister, one would have expected that the young footballer would proceed to give reasons or better still explain the circumstances that led to the dreadful incident.
The contrary is what is happening as Solomon Nyantakyi, who is currently under investigations has refused to disclose details of what led to the murder of his relations to the Italian police.
Solomon following the murder on Tuesday night, confessed to being guilty of committing the crime. Interrogations to ascertain the specific reasons why that happened has proved futile as the footballer is firmly holding back information.
The 21- year old was arrested arrested by police on an escape route in Milan on Wednesday morning after tracking him following the murder of his mother, Patience Nfum and his kid sister, Magdalene Nyantakyi, 11, who were all Ghanaians residing in Italy, on the sixth floor at San Leonardo.
The woman, Patience Nfum, originally from Ghana, was 43 years old. She had arrived in Italy many years ago, where her eleven-year-old daughter was born, who had just finished the first medium.
Raymond Nyantakyi, elder brother of the suspect, reportedly discovered the lifeless bodies on his return from work Tuesday evening.
Nyantakyi the father of the family was traumatized upon reaching the police station after he had received news of the murder. The husband of the murdered woman and daughter had moved to London due to work for about a month and a half, having been an employee for 15 years in a company of gastronomic products at Parma. He decided to try his luck in the British capital and had it not been the sad incident, his desire was to transfer the whole family to England.
It is still unclear, the reason for the murder but reports suggest he went into hard drugs and joined the company of drug dealers. His coaches also are suggesting the incident may be as a result of depression.
Solomon was touted as one of the rising stars in Italian football as he flourished in the youth system of Parma, winning several titles with them.
He was promoted to the Parma senior team by Roberto Donadoni before the club went on administration and the young player’s career took a nose dive.
The 21-year-old played for Serie D for Imolese Calcio last season. He is reported to have put his career on hold and joined a gang noted for committing serious crimes in Italy.
