Ashanti Gold Coach CK Akonnor has been handed the role as head trainer of Ghana’s U23 team, according to multiple reports in the media.
The former Ghana international takes over the mantle from veteran Malik Jabir as the FA embarks on reshuffling of the technical positions at the various national team’s.
Akonnor will be assisted by Liberty Professionals Coach Michael Osei.
The two Coaches are expected to begin their talents hunt for Ghana’s Olympic team who have failed to make an appearance at the global stage since 2004.
CK Akonnor earned the role due to his huge contribution in helping Ashanti Gold out of the relegation zone in the Ghana Premier League after taking over from Bashir Hayford.
He was recently named the Coach of the Month in the Ghana Premier League.
