The Public Procurement Authority (PPA) launched an Electronic Government Procurement system (eGP) today without the Minister of State in charge of Procurement, Adwoa Sarfo.
Speaking to Adom News at the launch of the project, the CEO of PPA, Agyenim-Boateng Adjei says the 97 million dollar project is going to reduce human involvement at the procurement sector to eliminate the immense corruption that has engulfed the sector over the years.
He added that the cost of a project would be determined electronically to prevent any form of malfeasance.
The media were however swerved by Adwoa Sarfo who was expected to grace the occasion to explain how the project is going to benefit government.
A Technical Economic Adviser at the Office of the Vice President, Dr. Gideon Boako says government is elated with the project because it the surest way to curb the incessant corruption in the procurement sector.
