A 15-year old boy, has been shot in the head by unknown assailants on Tuesday night at an event to mark the Eid-Ul-Fitr in Kumasi.
Unconfirmed reports indicate that the teenager has died from his head injuries.
The assailants believed to be armed robbers had been seizing phones belonging to celebrants at the event but the teenager, identified only as Osman refused to corporate leading to him being shot by one of them.
After the incident, he was rushed to the Manhyia hospital but in view of the severity of his injury, they intend referred him to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital where he died on admission.
The attackers according to Nurudeen Mohammed have fired the shot that hit Osman’s head from the dark.
Meanwhile, the Manhyia Divisional police command has commenced an investigation into the incident.
Nine lives were lost during a stampede at the Asawasi community center last year at a similar event.
