The Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS) Henry Nana Boakye popularly called ‘Nana B’ has disclosed his intention of vying for the National Youth Organiser position of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) when nominations open.

If he wins the party’s primaries which date is not yet known, Nana B will take over from Sammi Awuku who is also going for the National Organiser position.

Speaking on Peace FM’s Kokroko hosted by Kwame Sefa Kayi, he explained that he is poised to add his expertise to the development of the party for a continuous stay in power.

‘Sammy Awuku has worked tirelessly on the youth front in pushing the party’s agenda. I will work very hard to continue his good works by mobilising the youth to canvass votes for our party come 2020 elections. I have worked closely with him and have learnt the tenets he used in working with the youth, those at the grassroots and the party hierarchy as well as Ghanaians. I will be working under him if God willing he wins his position,’ he explained.

He admitted that though it will be a marathon race, he believes the delegates will vote for him to lead the youth.

‘The constituency and regional elections will go on before the national elections,’ he said.

Kwame Sefa affectionately called ‘Chairman’ endorsed Nana B’s candidature.

‘So Nana B will definitely contest when nominations open, right?, this indicates that Kokroko team members are being biased towards potential contenders because you are a regular panellist on the show, we thank God that you have taken such a decision…’

Asked by one of the regular panellists of the show, the Managing Editor of the Insight Newspaper Kwesi Pratt why Kwame was showing biases tendencies, he replied ‘he will surely have contenders, but so far Nana B’s contenders are not Kokroko panellists. Politicians who are our panellists don’t always win elections but I know he will sail through. There have been losers but there are few failures,’ he gaily said.

Other contenders’ names are yet to pop up.
